You have the questions, we have the answers

1. Who is eligible to apply?

Ideas and early-stage startups that want to learn more about how to build, launch and get funds.

2. Does StartUP23 Accelerator take equity?

No. We’re a free and zero-equity program – you retain full ownership of your startup.

3. What is the time commitment required for the S23 Accelerator?

It starts on May 21st and ends on June 5th . You’ll have a total of 8 online workshops, 1h each and 1 in-person event, the Demo Day (4h). The program is designed in a way that you’ll get more of it the more you participate. Workshops, mentoring sessions, and key events is essential to maximize the benefits. It’s not mandatory to all team members to attend, but it’s highly recommended.

4. What is the start time and structure of each program?

Each workshop is online and starts at 6.30pm and ends at 7.30pm (Lisbon timezone). Then you’ll work at your own pace and you’ll have support from our team in specific sessions.

5. Do I need to be based in Lisbon?

No! The program is fully online. You’ll only need to be in Lisbon if you are participating in the Demo Day.

6. What language is the program conducted in?

The program is primarily conducted in English to accommodate an international audience. However, some mentoring sessions and resources may be available in Portuguese depending on the mentor and participant preferences.

7. How does the application process work? Can I choose which stage to apply to?

In this 2nd Edition we will have only 1 application phase. There are no different application stages/phases! During the application process, you will be asked a few questions. Then our team will review your application to ensure it's a good fit, and if needed, we may request additional information.

8. Can I participate in all the programs?

We’re looking for founders that one to engage with the entire program. All the content is valuable and even if you are at a later stage, it’s always good to have a refresh view of the basics and make sure you are on the right path.

9. Is there any prize money at the end? Is there a guarantee of funding?

At the moment, we don’t have a prize money as we will not be ranking the startups. S23 Accelerator it’s not a contest nor a competition. We can’t guarattee any investment. Tha’s up to each investor to decide. We will, however, invite investors to attend the in-person events where the startups will be pitching.

10. What happens after the program?

You’ll have access to our investor network, mentorship pool, and community. Alumni also get priority for pilot projects with corporate partners.
